Military Inspired Display Box

If you're looking for the absolute best display box money can buy, look no further.

All of our boxes are made of your choice of solid hardwood, finish options, and leather options. Measures 14" wide x 10.25" deep x 4.75 tall and weighs right around 8 pounds (different wood species weigh more or less)

Shown in the photos are our Marines inspired display box done in solid walnut with Italian leather insert to fit a Bond Arms pistol and three additional barrels. However, we can make the insert for virtually any pistol(s) and/or magazines and finished in your choice of Italian leather. Our inserts are first mocked-up on the computer and traced out on a laser and cardboard (usually multiple times) until the exact shape and fit of your gun is perfected. Once the sizes and fit are confirmed on cardboard, the final tracing is done on a wood block and cut out by hand on a scroll saw. Any magazines or extra barrels set on their own elevated section. Everything is upholstered in fine Italian leather with Frenched cutouts. Finally, a decorative welt is added to the paremeter of the insert (again, in Italian leather).

We offer these boxes in a variety of different woods including walnut, hard maple, cherry, and oak. We'll give you the heads-up on two things regarding these boxes... they aren't cheap and they take a bit of time to make. Each and every box is individually made to your requested specifications. We acquire just the right raw lumber and other materials when you order your box. As we're doing the woodworking, at several points in the process, we have to give the wood time to rest and acclimate to ambient temperature and humidity levels (otherwise, you'll end up with a warped box!).

The viewing window is also made of solid hardwood and features anti-glare museum glass (yes, there's a piece of glass in the box shown in the picture!). We realize that the gun you put in your display box will probably rarely be taken out. So, we went for an ultra-clean look. The glass and glass frame are removed using a small rubber suction cup that we provide. Simply apply the suction cup to the frame and lift. This prevents smudges on the glass. We really did think of everything!

The finishing process also takes a bit of time. Our finishes are SECOND TO NONE! All of our boxes recieve a piano-grade finish that is equal to those on the finest Steinway and Sons pianos. 6-8 coats of nitrocellulose lacquer is applied in stages and hand-sanded between coats. Again, drying/curing times between coats also take additional time. Finally, a top-coat of lacquer is applied. If the final product is to be a high-gloss, mirror finish, the parts are left to cure for 2 weeks, and then, a final sanding using 3000 grit sandpaper followed by hand polishing is done.

Did I say, "we do gold"? Because, we do gold! 23k gold leaf is also an option for those who want to elevate their carving to the next level! Also, an additional 6"x4" personalized engraved plaque can be added to the underside of the lid at no additional charge. Just let us know exactly what you'd like it to say!
